Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences accredited and Australia’s longest running festival of short films, the St Kilda Film Festival is about as prestigous as short film festivals get. Each year the festival whets the appetite of Australian film-fans with the launch of their official ‘trailer’, and this time round By All Means was given the job of writing and directing it.
Featuring an ensemble of some of Melbourne’s most interesting actors, and produced in collaboration with Craig Griffin (of The Directors Group) alongside a collection of Melbourne’s best and brightest names in production and post-production, 2017’s trailer emphasised the time sensitive nature of short films via the comical observation that, ‘In St Kilda, things happen quickly’.
